Christmas Day is a special date that is celebrated in a familiar way. Children open the presents that Santa Claus has left for them during the night. A very special Christmas tradition in England is Crackers, small cardboard tubes wrapped with wrapping paper and joined together. The sides of the cracker are usually pulled to discover messages or small details inside.
On these dates, British people often send letters to family, friends and sweethearts.
